Nah the stupidity comes from asking how someone born in Canada & playing in Italy can be playing for England.

If you’re paying taxes and feel allegiance then seems fine.

Hargreaves dad was English.

Got to agree with the complaint about being eligible to play for a country when you weren't born there and neither of your parents nor any of your grandparents has any connection with the country.

I didn't actually know what the limits on eligibility were so I just looked them up and I was surprised to find that they are tighter now than they have ever been. Before 2008 and you could play for a country you weren't born in and with no ancestral connection after just 2 years of living there. it has been upped to 5 years now.

Apparently for Chelsea Mount got 16 assists last season as well as 13 goals, so I guess he does contribute more than just hitting the net. He's definitely not cutting it at international level though.

Oluwafikayomi Oluwadamilola "Fikayo" Tomori, a bloke born in Canada and who plays in Italy, just how does he get to play for England?

What a stupid fucking post.
He moved here before he turned 1 and played here all his life.
He’s on loan at Milan and was probably the best defender in Serie A last season.

Did you moan about Owen Hargreaves being eligible to play for England? I doubt it, but then he was white so you probably didn’t mind.

Re: England V Italy Nations League
Mount is one of those players who if he isn't scoring goals contributes very little. Not unlike Lampard but nowhere near as prolific.

No idea why they are playing these games. Players should be having a rest. Waste of time

Re: England V Italy Nations League
Hasn't anyone yet uttered the immortal phrase ''if you can't see what Mount does you know fuck all about football'' because that's what usually gets rolled out on here when a midfield player who always gets picked but contributes fuck all gets criticised.

He is trying to play a possession game but how many passes go forward? Sideways and backwards allows the opposition to get back in shape, it's not rocket science. I think half the problem is the country moaned about the English game about being fast and direct but lacking possession, but now it's gone too far the other way. Rice played at least two cracking long passes tonight, not long ball but a long pass. There is scope to mix it up but Southgate seems terrified of losing the ball. You can only score if you take risks.

Re: England V Italy Nations League
No one seemed to want to play as a team tonight. The attackers didn't want to pass they all wanted the glory but none of them could score. Bowen was the same when he came on.

This nations league is a load of shit, players should be on holiday after a long season.

As for Southgate he’s got a very decent orchestra and struggles to get much more than green sleeves out of them.

Watching England is fucking boring.

Takashi Miike 12:01 Sun Jun 12
Re: England V Italy Nations League
it's the lack of cohesion or visible pattern of play that's most worrying. I'm not sure a bloke off the street could make us look more disorganised. maybe the players feel it too and haven't got a clue what the horse face cunt wants from them?

All bodes well for the WC then?

The usual negative and predictable shit from our lot, he loves a sideways or backpass does Gareth, but hey we had the most possesion, did fuck all with it but a stat you cant ignore.................

What a load of boring crap that match was. Same old negative football. Another England side packed with talent that will do nothing. Liked the look of the Italians. Mancini is building a good side of youngsters.

Need to win the game and Southgate keeps the same formation. Why not go two up top, go direct, whip crosses in, something, anything different.

Re: England V Italy Nations League
The idiot brings on Bowen to play his strongest position at right wing, who shows some positivity in play, so minutes later the idiot brings on Saka to play that same position and now Bowen is just drifting about with no position. It's Moyes and Yarmolenko all over again.

Been watching Irish TV commentary. They tell it like it is. Lots of 'oh dear, oh dear dear dear...' and 'disappointing'.
